The Orchard Hills Neighborhood Association is committed to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood.
\nIt is a voluntary membership organization, founded in 2001, which exists to make this
\nneighborhood a safer and better place to live.
\nThis is accomplished through the work of an elected board of directors, made up of voluntary positions that are renewed every two years at our annual meeting. Residents are encouraged to participate in monthly planning meetings.
\nThe boundaries of the Association in Garland, Texas, extend from Overhill Dr. and Ashwood Dr. on the north to Kingsley on the south and between S. Glenbrook and Saturn Rd.<\/p>\n

Our Outreach<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Neighborhood Safety<\/strong> through crime watch and prevention. We work with the Garland Police Department\u2019s neighborhood patrols in reporting and preventing crimes or suspicious behavior.
\nNeighborhood Representation <\/strong>to the city government and to our District 5 city councilman.
\nCommunity Activities<\/strong> and work with the city to accomplish larger projects.
\nNeighborhood Communication <\/strong>through our website, social media on facebook and Next Door, quarterly newsletters, email and event flyers.
\nNeighborhood Education<\/strong> through the city of Garland\u2019s wealth of information on: code enforcement, severe weather response, fire prevention, crime prevention, landscaping ideas and neighborhood management classes.<\/p>\n

Our Accomplishments Include:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u2022 Hosting annual community events
\n\u2022 Providing outreach and volunteer opportunities
\n\u2022 Promoting initatives to support street repairs and improvements, sidewalk repairs,
\nalley improvements, and drainage system improvements
\n\u2022 Promoting crime watch programs and developing relationships with local officers to
\nlower crime rates
\n\u2022 Providing assistance to neighbors
\n\u2022 Maintaining seven beautiful neighborhood gardens<\/p>\n
