Neighborhood Work Day

Neighborhood Work Day

8am – 12 noon Saturday ~~Feb. 28~~ March 7th

We need your manpower! Come out and help beautify and clean up our landscape beds for spring bloom. Bring your gloves, pruners, shovels and rakes. We will be pruning out last year’s growth, trimming up the roses and rosemary, raking out leaves and transplanting to fill in where any plants have died. Meet at the south entrance to Rick Oden Park on Briarwood.

Mr. Bill “BG” Johnson

The Orchard Hills Neighborhood Association would like to extend our condolences and shared grief to the Johnson family whose home burned completely on Wednesday November 19, 2014. Mr. Bill “BG” Johnson, 86 years old, lived at 2836 S. Glenbrook with his grandson Doug Haefner. He was there alone around 5 pm when he heard a whoosh noise and discovered a fire had started in the house. He attempted to put it out unsuccessfully and made it out of the house with only minor injuries and smoke inhalation. Mr. Johnson’s wife died several years ago. He is now staying with his daughter.
